Q1. How to choose a suitable dust collector?

Considering points:
(1) Type and quantity of dust.
(2) Shape, size and numbers of the hoods.
(3) Distance between the dust generating location and the suction port.
(4) Required air volume
(5) Diameter of the hose.
(6) Required static pressure

Determine the required suction volume, filtration area, filter material, air permeability and dust shaking method by the type, quantity, size of the particles and the dust collecting method, etc. Classification of the dust generated from the production line is the first step in determining the dust collection method.

Q2. What are the features of CHIKO AIRTEC`s dust collector?

(1) Keeping the air volume setting
Able to keep the same air volume setting as before every time when it is restarted.

(2) Ethernet/RS-485 control function and remote control function
It can be operated with remote or computer by ethernet/RS-485 communication.

(3) Dust shaking function
The filter cleaning function can prevent the filter from clogging. It can be executed manually or automatically.
The machine with remote control function and automatic dust shaking function can prevent the filter from clogging even if there is no regular inspection by any personnel.

(4) Deodorizing function

Q3. How to classify different kind of dust?

Determine the dust collection method according to the type of dust.
(1) Floating dust
(2) Adhering dust
(3) Fume (smelly smoke and dust caused by laser marking etc.)

(1) Floating dust
To handle the light floating dust in the air, and prevent it from adheres to the product, the most effective method is to set up a suction port in the direction (above/below/side) where it floats, or removing it in an enclosed space.

CHIKO High Air Volume Type (CKU series etc.) products are most suitable in this situation.

(2) Adhering dust
Fine dust adhering to the product can be removed by small-diameter pipe and slit nozzle with high suction speed. For electrostatically charged dust, you can remove it with a combination of dust collector and air blow machine. Also, it is important to keep a short distance between the dust and the suction port.

CHIKO High-Pressure Type (CBA series etc.) products are recommended in this situation.

(3) Fume
For the extraction of odorous solder/laser marking fume, it is important to remove the fume and smell at the same time while preventing the filter from clogging by sticky fume.

With CHIKO's unique design, the filter loaded with zeolite powder can be used for a longer time without being easily clogged. Furthermore, dust collector with activated carbon filters can help deodorize.

In addition, the suction power of CHIKO dust collector will not decrease even the dust shaking mode is operating.

CHIKO Laser Clean Type (CBA-1000 series etc.) products are recommended in this situation.

Q4. What is the function of Zeolite and Activated Carbon?

Zeolite powder can protect the filters from clogging and deodorizing, while activated carbon is very effective in deodorizing.

Since both zeolite powder and activated carbon are granular, it is difficult to refill. Therefore, both must be made into a filter shape part that is easy to replace. CHIKO fills the zeolite powder into the first-layer filter, and designed an activated carbon cassette box that is very convenient to replace like the ordinary filters.

Q5. About RoHS and RoHS2

All standard models are RoHS compliant.
Our goal is to pass the RoHS2 standard before July 21, 2021.

Q6. When should the filters be replaced?

The timing of filter replacement varies with the situation, such as the type of dust collected and the operating time. Please refer to the replacement timing stated in the instruction manual.

If filters are not replaced regularly, the suction power will be affected.

If the filter is damaged, dust is more likely to be sucked into the blower and cause malfunction.
